stpmj건축은 서울과 뉴욕에 위치한 아이디어 기반의 설계사무소이다. ‘provocative Realism’이라는 비전 아래 일상에서의 근본적인 아이디어를 새로운 시각으로 해석하여 주거, 문화, 상업 시설 등에 적용하고 있다. 동시에 공공예술, 전시, 설치작업을 통하여 건축의 경계를 탄력적으로 넓히는 실험을 하고 있다. 2012년 뉴욕 건축가 연맹에서 수여하는 젊은 건축가상, 2016년 뉴욕건축사협회에서 수여하는 신진건축가상, 2016년 대한민국 문화체육관광부에서 수여하는 젊은 건축가상, 2016 김수근 프리뷰상, American Institute of Architects New York Design Award 2017 그리고 Architectural Record 에서 선정하는 Design Vanguard 2017 (차세대 세계 건축을 이끌 10인의 건축가상)을 수상했다.
stpmj is an award winning design practice based in New York and Seoul. The office is founded by Seung Teak Lee and Mi Jung Lim with the agenda, “Provocative Realism”. It is a series of synergetic explorations that occur on the boundary between the ideal and the real. It is based on simplicity of form and detail, clarity of structure, excellence in environmental function, use of new materials, and rational management of budget. To these we add ideas generated from curiosity in everyday life as we pursue a methodology for dramatically exploiting the limitations of reality.

이승택은 고려대학교에서 건축공학사와 석사 학위를 받고 하버드 대학에서 건축학석사를 받았다. 하버드 디자인 대학원에서 Faculty Design 상을 수상하였으며 SOM 도시와 건축 traveling felowship의 최종 후보였다. 뉴욕의 n Architects 와 LEVENBETTS, 스위스 바젤의 Herzog & de Meuron, 그리고 서울의 SYSTEM LAB에서 일하였으며 현재 stpmj 대표이자 국민대학교 겸임교수이다.
Seung Teak Lee was born in Seoul, Korea. After graduating with B.E and M.E from Korea University, he received his M.Arch from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He was the recipient of the Architectural Department Faculty Design Award from Harvard and was also a finalist for the SOM architecture and urban traveling fellowship 2009. He has won several awards in international design competitions and exhibitions. Before co-founding stpmj he worked at nARCHITECTS and LEVENBETTS in New York, Herzog & de Meuron in Basel and nSYSTEMLAB in Seoul. He is currently stpmj’s Seoul Office Director and an adjunct professor at Kookmin University.

임미정은 연세대힉교에서 주거환경학을 전공하고 로드아일랜드 디자인 스쿨에서 건축학사와 하버드 대학에서 건축학 석사를 받았다. 뉴욕 미국 건축사이며 뉴욕의 Andrew Berman Architect에서 일하였다. 현재 stpmj 대표이자 홍익대학교 겸임교수 그리고 서울시 공공건축가로 활동 하고 있다.
Mi Jung Lim was born in Seoul, Korea. After graduating with B.S from Yonsei University, she received her B.Arch from Rhode Island School of Design and M.Arch from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is a registered architect in the state of New York. Before co-founding stpmj she worked at SOM, Andrew Berman Architect in New York and office DA in Boston. She is currently stpmj’s New York Office Director, an adjunct professor at Hongik University, and a Seoul Metropolitan Government Architect.
