어반소사이어티는 도시 내의 유휴 공간 개발, 마켓 플레이스 재생, 노후 건축물 리모델링, 커뮤니티 공간 디자인, 공유지 활성화 등을 추진하는 있는 도시건축 전문팀이다. 업그레이드 방식의 공간 개발로 도시재생에 의미있는 작업에 집중한다. 공간이 도시의 장소, 환경, 역사, 커뮤니티와 함께 할 때 비로소 스스로의 생명과 정체성을 가질 수 있다고 생각하며, 건축작업을 통해 그 가치와 잠재력을 공동체와 공유해 지속가능한 사회를 만드는데 힘을 쏟고 있다.
Urban Society is a team of architects specializing in urban architectural design. Its main projects include the development of idle spaces in the city, the regeneration of market places, the remodeling of old buildings, the design of community spaces, and the activation of shared sites. In upgrading spaces, Urban Society emphasizes city regeneration. When a city is alive with spaces, environment, history and community, it hums with its own life and identity. Urban Society is strives to foster a sustainable society by sharing the value and potential of architectural projects with the wider community.

한양대학교, 밀라노 폴리테크니코에서 건축을 수학했다. 공간종합건축사사무소에서 실무경험을 쌓았고, 2013년 어반소사이어티를 설립했다. 건축가의 사회적 역할에 관심을 갖고 도시재생, 리모델링, 커뮤니티 디자인과 관련한 다양한 도시건축작업을 진행하고있다. 한양대학교 건축공학과 겸임교수로 재직중이다.
Before establishing Urban Society in 2013, Jaechan Yang studied at Hanyang University and Politecnico di Milano and worked at Gonggan Architects Office. With a view toward the social role of architecture, Mr. Yang has conducted numerous urban architecture design projects, including city regeneration, remodeling, and community design. He is also an adjunct professor in the Division of Architectural Engineering, Hanyang University.
