Architect

김효만 Hyoman Kim | 대표, 건축가

건축가 김효만은 이로재김효만건축사사무소(IROJE KHM Architects)의 대표이고, 세계적인 건축미디어인 미국의 Archdaily에서 ”World’s Best Architects” 중의 한 명으로 선정되었으며, 미국의 CNN은 김효만을 “The Architect linking Korea’s Past and Future”라는 제목으로, “Great Big Story”중의 하나로서 동영상을 제작한바 있다. 또한 세계건축상으로서 Iconic Awards, German Design Awards, American Architecture Prize, Architecture Master Prize, World Architecture Community Awards, Architizer A+ Awards, ARCASIA AWARD 등을 수상하는 동시에, Marquis Who’s Who로부터 평생업적상(Lifetime Achievement Award)을 수상하였으며, 한국건축문화대상, 한국건축가협회상, 대한건축학회상, 서울시 건축상, 경기도 건축문화상, 크리앜 올해의 비평건축상 등 다수의 국내건축상을 수상한바 있다.

오스트레일리아의 세계적인 출판사인 Images Publishing Group은 김효만/이로재김효만건축사사무소(IROJEKHM Architects/HYOMANKIM) 의 작품집을 “Leading Architects of the World”시리즈의 하나로 출판하였으며 대표작으로는 가온재, 화헌, 플라잉하우스, 도헌, 자안재, 임거당 등이 있다. 15회 베니스비엔날레 “THE FAR GAME”, 뉴욕 “Good Life”, 이탈리아 토리노 UIA의 “ARCASIA TODAY”, 일본 건축가협회초청의 “The Modern Architecture to make History Alive”전, 뉴욕대학의 “Vertical Factory”, 중국 항조우 “Oriental Life Suitable Living”전의 초대작가이기도 하다. “IROJEKHM Architects/HYOMAN KIM”, “PA김효만”, “임거당”, “잘 지은 집” 등 4권의 저서를 출간하였고, 건축전문지인 “CONCEPT”지 편집위원을 역임하였으며, 그의 작품들은 국내는 물론, TASCHEN, Wallpaper, FRAME, MARK, Rizzoli, Le Moniteur, INTERNI, Interior Design, Archdaily.com, Architzer.com, Designboom.com, 미국 HGTV의 Extreme Homes, 싱가폴 LiTV 등과 같은 세계각국의 건축전문지 및 미디어에서 매년 출판되어왔다.
경기대 건축대학원, 서울시립대 건축학과, 단국대 건축학과 겸임교수를 역임하였으며, 서울시공공건축가로 위촉을 받아 공공건축의 발전에도 기여한 바 있다.

IROJE KHM Architects has been selected for one of the world’s best architect in Archdaily’s special article “A Selection of the World’s Best Architects.” HyoMan Kim is principal of IROJE KHM Architects. He has received the following international and domestic awards, the German Design Award, Architizer A+ Award, Iconic Awards, WA Award, ARCASIA Award, Modern Decoration International Media Award,
Korea Architectural Culture Award, Seoul Architecture Award, Gyeonggi-do Architectural Culture Award, Gwangju Architecture Award, and the Critic’s Architecture Award of the Year.

He participated on invitation to international exhibitions including the Good Life in New York, Vertical Factory by New York University, Paju Book City by AEDAS gallery in Berlin Germany, The modern architecture to make history alive, hosted by the Japan Institute of Architects, and the UIA General Meeting Invitation Exhibition, in Torino, Italy. His works have been published in all the countries of the world and he was the editorial advisor of CONCEPT magazine in Seoul. He was also a contributing architect at the 15th Venice Biennale, 2016. He held the adjunct professor position at the Graduate School of Architecture in Kyonggi University, University of Seoul and Dankook University.
