LIFE 건축사사무소 LIFE architects는 서울에서 설립된 젊은 건축가 그룹이다. 우리 삶(Life)에 밀접하게 연관된 현상들에 대한 관심을 바탕으로, 건축이라는 영역에 한정되지 않는 공간 및 다양한 디자인과 관련된 작업들을 진행하고 있다. 일상적인 생각에 의문을 갖고 새로운 생각과 재료 및 기술을 받아들여 그 생각을 실현해 나가는 방법을 고민한다. 이러한 일상적인 생각에 대한 의문이 우리의 삶(Life)을 변화시키는 시작이며 우리가 살아가는 경직된 도시의 풍경을 변화 시킬 수 있다고 생각한다.

LIFE architects is a young architects group founded in Seoul. Based on our interest in the phenomena closely related to life, we are working on a wide range of designs and spaces that are not limited to the scope of architecture. Asking questions about everyday thinking and how to embrace new ideas, new materials, and technologies to make them happen. And we believe the question of this kind of thought is that it’s starting to change the way we live in a rigid city.

Architect

한지영, 황수용 | 공동 대표, 책임건축가

한지영은 공간이 사용되는 순간 지각되는 요소들에 집중하고 그 관계를 공간에 풀어낸다. 황수용은 건축가의 의도가 잘 드러날 수 있는 이해하기 쉬운 건축에 대해 항상 고민한다. 두 사람은 연세대학교에서 만나 석사학위를 받고 2016년 라이프건축사사무소를 설립하여 운영해오고 있다. 성수동 A빌딩, 제주 오형제, 동교동 브레이스, 파주4+1주택, 서울시립농아인복지관 설계공모 당선작 등을 설계하였고 한국건축문화대상 신진부문 우수상(2021), 제주건축문화대상(2021), 경기도건축문화대상(2020), 푸르지오디자인공모전(2011)대상을 수상했다.

Jee-young Han focuses on the elements perceived when a space is used, and unravels their relationship into the space. Soo-yong Hwang contemplates on easy-to-understand architecture; design which expresses the architects’ intention in a clear manner. After graduating with M.arch from Yonsei University, the two founded LIFE architects in 2016. Their major works include A-building(Sungsu-dong), O hyung jae(Jeju), Brace(Donggyo-dong), One+4 House(Paju), and the competition winning Welfare Center for the Deaf(Seodaemun). They have been awarded such as Korean Architecture Award(2021), Jeju Architecture Award(2021), Gyeonggi Architecture Award(2020), and Prugio Design Competition(2011).
