TCA(the concrete abstract)는 아이디어를 기반으로 하는 건축 스튜디오이다. 구체와 추상, 물질과 정신 사이의 경계 영역에서 발생하는 힘들의 상호작용에 관심을 가진다. TCA는 물질과 공간이 만들어지고 사람에게 영향을 주는 모든 과정에 집중하며, 디테일 안에 구체와 추상이 함께 존재한다는 믿음을 가지고 작업을 진행한다.

TCA is an idea-based architecture studio. It is interested in forces that interact on the border of the concrete/ the abstract, and matter/ spirit. TCA focuses on the process of the building of material and space, and on its affect delivered to people. It has a belief that the concrete and the abstract coexists in the detals.

TCA(the concrete abstract)의 대표이자 홍익대학교 건축학부 교수로 재직 중이다. 연세대학교와 하버드 건축대학원에서 공부하였고 미국 건축사이다. 서울 조병수 건축연구소, 베를린 바코우 라이빙어, 뉴욕 아자예 어쏘시에이츠에서 뮤지엄, 주거, 오피스 등 다양한 규모와 프로그램의 건축 실무를 익혔다. 2019년 서울도시건축 비엔날레 도시전 코디네이터, Art Like Salt 예술가 국제공모 심사위원 등 건축 뿐 아니라 전시, 예술 분야에서 폭넓게 활동하고 있다.

Tony Woonghee Cho is a principal of TCA(the concrete abstract) and professor of Hongik School of Architecture in Seoul. He studied at Yonsei University and Harvard University, and is an AIA. He worked at BCHO Architects in Seoul, Barkow Leibinger in Berlin and Adjaye Associates in New York, and experienced various projects ranging from museums, residence to office buildings. He is actively participating in art projects and exhibitions as well as architecture, such as a coordinator of 2019 Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism and a jury of <Art Like Salt> art residency program international open call.
